Layout Sketch/Planning

First Draft - Intro paragraph

Innovatively challenging the genre, this artist has brought Indie Pop back to the top! Bringing a refreshing and unique representation of this rare genre and creating a huge visual impact. Indie Pop can never be the same after this new artists' arrival. There will definitely be a twist to come and we sure can't wait to see more of their music!

Image Ideas

The main image would preferably be a mid shot in order to emphasise the face which can be PS edited in order to bring in the conventional Indie Pop image and colours - by overlapping colours or images over the model's face.
Mise-en-scene of the model will include a fedora hat accessory which can initiate curiosity in readers as there will be possible low key lighting on the model's face which could create a mysterious mood and cause readers to feel curiosity and interest in the artist!

MM Moodboard -

Music Magazine - Moodboard

I had originally chosen Acoustic as the genre focus for my music magazine however I did not think that it suited a mass target audience. Therefore I thought about Pop and then leaned towards Indie Pop as this genre usually associates with independent labels/artists. I found this easier and much more realistic to work with once I start taking photos of my model. I looked at magazines that featured the genre of Indie Pop, artists and bands that conformed to Indie Pop (more melodic compared to Indie Rock, less abrasive (harsh) 'and relatively angst-free'), I looked into their album's graphics as well as fonts used to get a base idea for the visual thought these Indie Pop artists associated with their genre of music.
